Street Style Highlights at New York Fashion Week

Here’s the inevitable article about my favorite street style outfits as seen at New York Fashion Week (spring/summer 2013). I’ve been collecting inspiring photos from everywhere and now that the big event is over, I can finally show you the ones I loved the most.

The fashion outside the shows has become as important as the shows themselves and I know many of you are more excited about the outfits in the streets than about the new collections. I guess street style has a larger appeal because it gives us the impression it’s more affordable and authentic than the high-end ensembles on the runway. That’s pretty much the case usually, but a big part of the crowd at a big fashion week wears a super expensive variety of the designer clothes and accessories that most of us can only dream of.

What I do love about this events though is that they’d become “more available”, the shows can be watched online in real time and basically anybody can go and strout around and be featured on the street style section of vogue.com or elle.com alongside the industry’s who’s who.

These are happy times for fame whores everywhere! We all have the chance to become fashion icons if not anything else.

I love how almost all the photos feature a glorious New York summer to fall weather – makes me love this city even more!

 Any favs?

Color Stoned - Have a lemonade!

I sometimes wake up having the strangest cravings. Somehow wearing something ridiculously inappropriate (and by that I mean something ultra elegant, maybe sheer:)))) in a shade of yellow-light green-citrus seems the answer today; that would make this day a good one.

A pair of high waisted greenish pants and an electric yellow slouchy blouse will have to do it but, let me tell you, that wasn’t my first choice. Just look at these stunners!

Hermes Fall

 Elie Saab Spring Couture
Elie Saab Spring Reay To Wear

I need an intervention

Guys, I think I have a problem – my ring addiction has spiraled out of control. Unlike my previous addictions this one doesn’t really want to fade away, it’s going strong for more than 6 months. Guess where I go first every time I “enter” a virtual store? Women-Jewelry- Rings, you know it!!!!
I did get my grabby hands on some pretty spectacular pieces lately, you’re gonna see all of them featured on the blog at one point.
In the meantime let’s feed this addiction!

Can you...

Can you imagine anything more beautiful that being young, in love and dancing like superstars…together?

Maybe dancing and kissing all day long! I just love this video, the perfect contrast between the styles, the fluidity, the emotion and the story there give me goose bumps.

When I was 16...

When I was 16:

I saw the world through a magic colored glass and every emotion was oversized
PHOTO: Flamingo Sands by Belinda Chen

I was crazy in love with two boys

I was dreaming with my eyes open and walking on clouds

I was insecure about everything except the fact that I will change the world

I was reading as if there was no tomorrow

 I discovered fashion

I started using makeup for the first time

   I had very long hair

I wanted something extraordinary to happen to me

I was feeling that my friends were not enough

I had my first kiss, it was super awkward!:))))

I was a drama queen  (still am)

I was living in my head

I was listening to boy bands

    I was awesome

I believed that when I’ll grow up everything will be easier and simpler

I was sure that by now I would be rich, have the greatest job ever and know everything I needed to know

I didn’t want to move to New York and thought living in Bucharest would be awesome

I wrote this article after reading this. The thing is - I kind of feel the same as I felt when I was 16, at least when it comes to some aspects of my life!:)

What were you doing when you were sixteen?
