Oh, deer!

I love animals and especially deers, stags (everything with antlers really) so imagine my excitement when, last week, I got to see one with my own two eyes! Granted it was from a moving train, but still, it was quite near, just standing there mighty beautiful in a white filed.

Amazingly cool – if people say there is no magic in the world than they have never seen a stag in their life. Of course I didn’t have my camera with me – I usually don’t when something interesting or really worth taken pictures of happens.

I thought I should still write about it and share some visual deer themed inspiration with all of you.

Elle and Dakota

Even though this it’s so last year and I mean that literary (this pictorial was shoot in December 2011 for  W magazine)  I just had to show you guys this lovely pictures starring Dakota and Elle Fanning again in 2013. I watched some of their movies this past week and I remembered seeing the photos so I had to dig them up!

The pictorial called Sister Act was shot by Mario Sorrenti with styling by Lori Goldstein. These two talented sisters were draped in haute couture garments from Chanel, Dior, Rodarte, Giambattista Valli and Givenchy. 

When these photos were made Dakota was 17 and Elle 13. I’m actually shocked how gown up Elle seems (not in a bad way off course, it’s just that she seems the older sister here, right?)

They just sparkled in the beautiful gowns and the soft makeup. I low the glow effect on the cover and think the monochrome image make them look almost ethereal.

It’s all about the pale complexion and blonde hair with those expressive eyes and perfect lips with these two! I like how the lighting makes them look so delicate, almost angelic. This has to be one of the most gorgeous spreads ever. 

Now I feel the crazy urge to take Sara and go do something similar.

Paradiso Perduto. Ain't love grand?

You know how a couple of days ago I was rambling about Great Expectations and how I felt a bit like Estelle in one of my outfits?

Well imagine my delight when I saw Chotronette’s fall-winter collection (Paradiso Perduto) and their inspiration – no other than Miss Havisham. The thing is, the photoshoot they made to showcase some of the new pieces is so brilliant and expressive I would have known the inspiration source without even reading the press release. 

I’ve always thought Miss Havisham to be kind of cool in a really creepy way: she’s the ultimate drama queen, stopping all the clocks, always wearing her old, decomposing, yellowed wedding dress, wanting so bad her pain and desperation to show on the outside, poisoning everything she touches and never letting go.

I adore the dresses they made, the black, sheer one is stunning, both ethereal and dark, like a transparent cage. I love how they used beautiful sheer lace and created all the little details, ruffles, shaped shoulders and adorable buttons, the print with the black trees they used in some of the pices is also amazing.

Props for the beautiful photos, I love the Grey Gardens atmosphere, the model, hair, makeup, everything really!:)

Notes on a Star - Stalking Muse

The Chotronette girls are killing me…softly:))). They launched this new, amazing pictorial to preview their S/S 2012 collection. All I can say it’s the girls have a vision and they are able to execute it to perfection.

With the last set of photos I thought they couldn’t possibly do something better but, man, I was so wrong! I love the feeling of these photos, the liquid colors, the exquisite redhead, the dresses and photo editing.

All I want to do now it’s to sleep in a boat dressed in silk and tulle and look at the stars with angel wings attached to my back. Girls, you just have to get out of my head, I need a little bit of privacy here!!!!

The Story of the Fortune Teller and the Flying Circus

Today I have a big treat for you – a stunning editorial from Chotronette named The Story of the Fortune Teller and the Flying Circus. I mean, the title alone is awesome and I think the photos live up and exceed the expectations such a cool name would suggest.

Chotronette is a Romanian brand that basically makes some of my dream dresses, it’s like the two talented girls behind it are seeing some of my fashion dreams and then make clothes out of them. Just like the photos, Chotronette is all about fantasy, colors and playfulness. The editorial is part of the campaign to advertise their 2011 Spring Summer collection. I love it and also happen to love Terry Gilliam and Stephen King.

For some reason I’m fascinated with the circus although I went only once when I was a little girl. But I read a lot of books about this subject, seen even more movies and TV shows on the matter and still believe “Carnivale” is one of the best shows ever made so hell yeah, girls, you and the team did an amazing job. 

Storyline: Flirting with magic at the verge of reality

Protagonist: The nomad burlesque fortune teller and the unseen magus of heart illusions (P.S. we've locked away the psychedelic clown)

Props and other disasters: the crystal globe, the fearless lion and the caffeine-overdosed-way-too-talkative French mime

Isn’t everything about these photos perfect?

Boy/Girl Wonder - Martin Cohn

Remember these two articles of mine? Well guess what? There was androgyny before Andrej Pejic!:)))) He has a little bit of competition and the name of the competition is Martin Cohn (who  happens to have some Romanian roots but that’s beside the point).

Apparently this type of look is called UMO (standing for Unidentified Modeling Object) which to me seems like the stupidest name in the history of stupid names.

I really like this trend of atypical models who don’t look like anybody else; they are unique and truly special.

But seriously, how is it fair for a guy to look this pretty? You probably didn’t hear anything about him before just because he’s a part time model, his real dream being to become a well known actor. 

Martin is not afraid of controversy as he dresses often in women’s clothes (not only on the catwalk) but also in his day to day life). I really like that about him, the fact that he is so confident to wear women clothes and to know that he looks fabulous, plus he says he doesn’t think he has a certain look, he just wears what he likes even if people think he is eccentric and extreme.

He changed his hair color into platinum blond which apparently helped him book more gigs, but I personally like him better with his natural color.
