Christmas decorations - last minute DIY

How about some last minute Christmas decoration and ornaments?

As you know, I'm big on little Christmas details and making my home look as festive as possible. I'm always hunting for easy DIY Christmas (and any other holiday know to men) ideas to share with you and put into practice myself.

This year I didn't have as much time as usual to go crazy with the Christmas ornaments, so I'm trying to get back on track with little glittery accents here and there (ok, you got me, it's more like everywhere).

Gold, glitter stag among Christmas cookies that look like snow covered hills (clever) and a tiny, blue car with a tiny Christmas tree tied on top!!!

This is too adorable for words - makes you want to have a kid just to dress him like this and take pictures of the said child in a miniature Santa Clause bucket which you will show to anyone and embarrass him/her for the rest of his/her life! That's true love!

Stick to white and red and you can't go wrong for Christmas!

Christmas stockings hanging over the fireplace and felt hearts decorated staircase! Yes, please!

Pastel Christmas decorations and gift wrapping meant for royalty (just getting the box with all the pearl beads and crystals would be enough for me:)))).

The Christmas ball made out of acorn' caps it's a pretty great idea! I have to replicate this!

Just sprinkle glitter on everything in sight and be done with it!

I'd prefer some sweet treats but these Christmas ornaments on a the cupcake stand look good too!

Precious Christmas lights go wonderful with some Christmas music or a Christmas movies marathon watched with your loved ones on the couch!

I love these vintage Christmas ornaments and old school Christmas tree toppers - they make me think about my childhood when we had very similar ones!

Silver glitter covered stag and fruits - this idea is on top of my Christmas crafts list!

Finally - a wonderful Christmas table arrangement that I plan to recreate myself!

Merry Christmas to everybody! Let me know if I gave you any last minute ideas for swanky Christmas decor!:)

Holiday outfit – white leather and fur

Why am I wearing a pair of white, leather, capri, sport inspired pants you ask? Well they would be normal length pants for people of average height!

Also, I just had to have them, OK?! I knew in my heart they were not going to be long enough for me, but I liked them so much I placed the order anyway. It’s just like when you buy something two size smaller and you say to yourself that you’re going to lose weight and wear that thing – I was delusional!:))))

I also got the white, asymmetric top to go with them. They are both from Front Row and I have to say, once again, that they don’t disappoint quality wise – both items look great and are well made and nice to touch. It did take a long while for the order to be processed and get to me, but once here I love it (even with the pants being so short on me)!

My sister challenged me to wear them and I think I made it work. I’m actually quite happy with the way this outfit turned out – I have a few more get ups in mind for the pants and they will look even better with pumps in the spring/summer. The top is obviously super versatile so it won’t be a problem. All in all - I have no regrets!:)))

  Yes, I was freezing!:)
 I’m wearing:
ankle boots, belt / botine, curea - Asos
lace tights, bag /ciorapi, geanta - random brand
leather pants / pantaloni piele - Front Row
top / bluza - Front Row
fur collar, trench / guler blana, trench - vintage
gold rose brooch / brosa trandafir - vintage
earrings, bracelet /cercei, bratara - Romwe

Brian Viveros – jaded beauty

The moment I saw Brian Viveros’ work I was sold. I wouldn’t know how to put it into words and feel I made it justice but there’s something about his art that gets an emotional reaction out of me. There so much of everything in this world that you just can’t react to it all so when you do, or more truthfully when I do, it’s to something special that hits home in more ways than one.

For me his portraits talk about the dark side of everything beautiful, the desire for destruction and self-destruction that’s in all of us, how we’re so jaded and hopeful at the same time, so powerful and so very weak, how we get wounded everyday by all the small and big things we never thought would happen to us, how we all pretend and play the many roles we have to, how we see ourselves and how others do, it’s about all the beauty and ugliness that coexist in this world, it about all the love and all the hate, all the contrasts that we live with.

I love how Brian paints these incredibly beautiful wide-eyed women while also giving them a super heroine quality that makes you feel they are true fighters. They are stunning and vulnerable but you wouldn’t want to mess with them. I guess ultimately it’s about how things are never black and white and how beauty gets tainted and soiled and wounded in the struggle to be happy or get wherever we want to get, how perfection is overestimated and how we are all damaged and fucked up but sometimes better in spite of it all.

“A technical perfectionist, Brian Viveros’ oil, airbrush, acrylic, and ink paintings are highly saturated with pigment, luminosity, and depth, while the compositions are poignant and simple. The artist’s emphasis tends to be on focal points such as the eyes, lips, and skin, conveying the subtlety of minute expression and the power of an impaling gaze. The paintings feel cinematic, like haunting stills from a film, owing to their evocative suggestion of narrative and to the iconicity of their subjects. The artist’s creative cosmos is beautifully stylized, never derivative, and distinctly recognizable as his own.” – this is a quote I found on his website that I subscribe to so I had to share it.

The text reflects my feeling towards Brian Viveros’ work and being personal I don’t expect everybody to agree but I would love to hear your thoughts about it.

The dark aristocrat

I always had this nagging suspicion I could levitate and as proven by this photos I was right!:)))) They were not photoshoped so the only logical explanation it’s that I can fly! I’m really excited I was wearing this outfit while levitating for the first time – you really don’t want your superhero costume to be something boring.

What possessed me to dress this way, you ask? Well, I got some awesome jewelry recently, a bunch of cool silver rings and bracelets and I felt the ardent need to wear them all at once. A maxi dress came to mind immediately as something that would work wonderfully and the rest is history. I was aiming for a witchy vibe, but a high-end version of that – maybe a princess turned to dark magic for some reason – if you get my drift!

I was actually followed by this furious, short woman that was asking obsessively: ”Do you think you’re a princess?” (Te crezi printesa? in Romanian) like it was a bad thing if I did. I can’t imagine why somebody would ever do that but I stopped and answered politely: ”Sometimes”. The whole thing was so ridiculous it was funny. This is what I get for riding the subway in such a get up!:))))

Getting back to my favorite subject – jewelry – I’m super obsessed with this lot from Red Cap – and I’ve been wearing them a lot these past two weeks. There’s something magic about good Goth theme rings and lots of them. I actually had a version of this outfit on for the Avanpremire 13 event - I just needed to show off the dress and bling to a more fashion friendly crowd!:)))
 I’m wearing:
maxi dress / rochie - Topshop
red jacket / jacheta rosie - H&M (The garden collection)
floppy hat / palarie - New Look
boots, fringe bag / cizme, geanta franjuri - random brand
rings / inele - Red Cap jewelry (1, 2, 3, 4)
   bracelets / bratari - Red Cap jewelry (1, 2)
