Game of Thrones - The red wedding episode

I know, I know, guys, I was shocked as well and I DID read all the books so I knew this was going to happen! Still, the denial was so sweet while it lasted!

Wanted to write this sooner but I had to recover from all the emotions episode 9  from season 3 of Games of Thrones brought to me!

What was in my heart? Something like this:

After all the drama that was and is still going on right now on every social media platform out there about the Sunday’s Game of Thrones episode, called The Red Wedding, I just felt the need to enlighten you with my wisdom.

First of all, I get the sadness of what happen, but come on, guys, you really have to be tougher than this if you still want to watch 'Game of Thrones' from now on and not have a nervous breakdown, plus crazy crying and hair pulling sessions after every episode.

I know, I know (spoiler alert!) that Robb, Talisa and Catelyn Stark were killed but you see, you have to stop taking it personal as R.R. Martin is a cruel, cruel man that does not care about your feelings and he will kill whoever he wants, whenever he wants. That is not to say that he is not brilliant but he is a pretty dark dude and you will get your hart broken some more if you stick with it.

I’m not trying to be insensitive here; I’m just trying to prepare you for the future. You see, I’m a kind soul that only wants to help by ripping all hopes that you my have early on so you don’t think that if you love a character they will be saved. Because they will be not, they will probably die a horrible death while you hug your pillow, desperately crying and yelling at the TV like a mad person. I know because I read the books and I did just that. Much ice cream was harmed during the times as well! Even more than usual that is!

So stop the “Oh, no they didn’t” or “Why HBO, why?!” or “I have no words!” remarks because they did and yes, you will hopefully get over it!

After reading what some people wrote about this episode I have to say: enough crying, go ahead and read the books already! Believe me, as awesome as the TV show is, the books are so much better and you will stop whining after every episode as you will already know what is going to happen, your heart will already be broken and all hope will be gone!

Now, just tell me that that is not a brilliant idea and such a kind suggestion on my part? You are welcome, young grasshoppers!

It definitely left me very shocked but thats why i love this show. No character is black and white, no character is exempt from 'sorrows' and R R Martin gives the show that realism that all other shows wished they had.

HI!! when I read this episode in the book I was in shock, but don't worry, the fifth book is amazing and the story slowly improves.

Finally a post which sums up my feelings towards this episode, and I love the fact it's written by a fashion blogger! I will read the books this summer, but my cousin is such a 'Game of Thrones' addict and he gave me some spoilers (many actually, but I can't complain) so I knew what was going to happen to the Stark family in this episode. Sure, it was tragic, and on such short notice, but that's what it sets 'Game of Thrones' apart from the other series if you ask me! Why should we accept cruelty only in the beggining and once we are fond of some characters just imagine they will live forever in peace? I suffered more when Ned Stark died, because I realised the family won't be able to reunite or be strong again for a long time. Still, I didn't find it outrageous, the writer decides the character's fate after and, like you said, he's a pretty dark man (let's be thankful HBO didn't include the satire with the direwolf's head put on Rob's body though).

Have an amazing week,

Definitely left me shocked, but the more I have time to digest, the more I begin to accept it. Does make me sad though.

I have not read the Books and so absolutely did not see any of this coming at all. Was absolutely devastated by the episode, emotionally unprepared for everything that went down. Amazing series and I totally want to read the books now!!
