Theme party

I’m not much of club goer, but what I really like is a good home party especially if it has a cool theme. I’m the kind of person that likes to dress up and pretend she’s someone else from time to time. It’s pretty boring to be the same old you all the time.

I’ve actually just been invited to a casino themed party and I’m super excited about it, maybe a little bit too much if you know what I mean. There are going to be tables with dealers and we’re even going to play!

That's the reason I’m “studying” poker as we speak although I’m sure my gambling skills are not really something I can rely on. Instead I’m going to stick with what I like and concentrate on clothes – sometimes the only way to win is to use your look as an advantage.

I think I should pull a Vesper Lynd on my friends, although showing up in a floor length backless dress might be a bit much, even for me. But then again it would be really great especially if one of the guys decides to come as James Bond! Man, I hope at least one will! Should I go the opposite direction and dress up like a Las Vegas dancer?

I’m also thinking Margot Tenebaum for some reason – just imagine a vintage slip worn as a dress with a faux fur coat, loafers and pearls. Maybe I should wear a pair of clean cut cigarette pants and a white shirt with a really big necklace and lots of rings.

Or get this: big ass hat, short trench, red lips – like a sexy Inspector Gadget meets Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's!!? The retro inspired outfit is always an option as well!

I haven’t decided yet – there are some many ways to go about this!

Please feel free to add your suggestions in the comments section! I’m looking forward to getting even more confused about this! :)))

Audrey Hepburn!! Go for it!!! :) x

I like the Vesper Lind and Holly Golightly ideas best. If you can get a red hat and red trench coat, slap on some red lipstick and leave your hair down and you can be Carmen Sandiego. She seems perfect for a casino night.

Hey, I would maybe go for a safe option personally, and go with a classic Hollywood glamour cocktail dress, to the knees :) Although it would be awesome to dress in a red carpet style gown.

I think red lips and a good neckline in the dress is more appropriate for a night at the Casino.

Thanks for your comment on my blog.

That you succeed tonight!

That’s a superb article on Theme party. I am also a fan of themed events as unique themes can make everything enjoyable for everyone. My daughter is turning 7 soon and she wants a beautiful outdoor rainbow party. So I am seeking some help in finding affordable San Francisco venues for this bash. Please help!
