My hair adventures

That would make for a cool book title! But let’s not get sidetracked.

You may have noticed my new, shorter hairstyle. Ok, it might not be all that new, in fact it’s a few months old but I still love it. I’m not missing my long hair all that much but what I do miss are the endless ways I could styled it back then. I used to do things with my hair, not always good things, but at least it was interesting, I’ve always been adventurous when it came to torturing my poor head.

My new hair looks good if I straighten it up but this is my go to look.  Lately I really wanted something different so I was thinking about a curly hairdo. It could look good on my longer in the front, shorter in the back French style bob, don’t you think?

I also always wanted to try the wavy look, you know, that kind of fresh, slightly curled hair that gives you the impression you spent the day at the beach doing something cool like surfing, stalking hansom guys, eating tons of ice cream and still looking hot. The only thing I can think of is that I really need a great curler right about now to make all my hair style fantasy come true. I could also dye it a crazy color and ignore the fact I’m a responsible, still employed adult with many bills to pay.

Can you say mid-life crisis? Is there even such a thing as a mid 20's life crisis?

A(dress) revolution

At the beginning of the warm season I decided this summer I’ll try to wear all of my summer clothes with an accent on all of my amazing dresses as so many of them don’t get to see the light of day more than once  a year or close to never. Instead, I tend to get fixed on a couple of items, many of them dresses in all honesty but still, I’m done wearing only 20% of my wardrobe.

That's all for the love of dresses which have the magic power of making us feel feminine, fresh and comfortable in less than 5 minutes. In order to achieve my goal I decided that for the next two or three months I’ll never wear the same outfit twice (how movie star of me, right?), so it’s a new dress or another combination a day.

I did pretty good, only went to the dark side one time  - I wore one of my favorite dresses twice, but just because I was in a hurry and all my other evening dresses were nowhere to be found or had to be pressed and I wasn’t  in a mood to do that.
For a person that loves dresses so much and wear them a lot I realized I don’t have that many evening dresses which is the perfect excuse for me to take advantage of the sale season (cause you know I need solid reasons to shop:)))).

I feel dresses have a therapeutic quality – they can actually give you confidence.

I’ve also decided to store the items I’ve already worn in the back of the closet to avoid temptation and, let me tell you, it works. I guess this is the main problem: I don’t have enough space  in my apartment; I can’t see all my dresses, skirts, pants and all the rest to choose a different one every day, I have to dig in a million boxes, closets, draws  and I rarely actually do it. But it’s a new era, right?! A revolution that doesn’t actually stop me from admiring some dream dresses.

How do you feel about dresses? Do you favor them?

Dreaming is believing – Jesse J

There’s a new cool kid in town - you know I’m talking about Jesse J. There’s something about this girl and her music (amezballs pipes, guys), she’s interesting, she has crazy swagger – I just like her a lot.

And her look is awesome: I really dig the ghetto fabulous Betty Page vibe she’s going for. Jessie has the attitude and sick body to pull off all those crazy body suits and skin tights jumpsuits she always wears. We’re talking about serious talent here: a great voice in a cool package doing something authentic in mainstream pop (that’s fucking hard).

The Uk talent is taking over the world. I’m a fan!!!
Are you into this kind of music or style?

Are you scared yet?

I should probably be cool and say I hate Halloween and I consider it to be an imperialistic holiday and another way for the USA to take over the world and brain wash everybody and bla bla bla but the honest to God truth is that I love it.

In fact I’m sad Halloween is not a big deal in Romania and we hardly celebrate it. I wish people would decorate their houses and yards with super creepy stuff and scare the crap out of me.

Can you see how much I love horror movies? I do. But besides the funny and entertaining part of this holiday, Halloween is a great occasion to free ourselves even if for one night and be whoever we want to be. Don’t mind the fact that based on that assumption 70% percent of the girls want to be some sort of a slut))))))), but hey, as I said, I don’t judge…(much).

Another thing that attracts me to Halloween is the kind of magic that it brings: all the lights and costumes, the kids. And let’s be honest for a moment here: we as a nation can be a little bit uptight and we take ourselves way too serious most of the time so a little bit of childish joy and fun wouldn’t hurt.

Incursion in my fashion dreams

I’ve asked myself countless time why I’m unable to update this blog as I should - often. The thing is I love fashion but I also get bored and sick of fashion. Life is so much more than fashion and I love so many things I can’t wholeheartedly write only about it. I used to have a personal blog, I wrote there for two years and then I had nothing else to say or I didn’t want to say anything else.

Still I think I need an audience and I actually think I need to write about something, so here I am, writing once a month about something fun and easy and enjoyable and hating the fact that spell check doesn’t work on my laptop. I also hate this new version of Word that I’ve installed on it trying to be hip and always on top of IT progress. I’m actually always under IT progress – I think I need a Facebook page! :)))))) One of the happiest hours of my life was when I somehow changed the html code for this blog and made it look like this – I’ve then forsaken it for a month and a half considering that effort was enough. In case you’re asking yourself what the hell am I saying here, keep doing that cause I don’t know myself – maybe is a sort of explanation of why I’ve been such a bad blogger.

And also know I’m a little bit happy and that’s because fall has finally come to Romania. Man, I love fall, it’s the perfect season – so inspirational, beautiful and melancholic; also you can actually wear clothes and not wish to live in your bathtub because of the heat. And if that is not enough, this is also that time of year when my favorite TV shows and possibly future favorite TV shows start again or just start. Just Wonderful!

I also love the direction fashion has gone this/last season (yes, I know this is so last spring but I’ve picked my favorites a long time ago and than forgot about them), it’s like every great designer has made an incursion in my fashion dreams and then came back and made a collection just for me.
