Cause this is what dreams are made of…

I finally got around writing a few words about the launch of the Community of Fashionistas (Comunitatea Fashinistelor) that I happened to attend last Tuesday. I have to say the girls from Diva Hair (the site who launched this application) did an amazing job so the event was relaxed, cool, yet pretty glamorous: beautiful people dressed to the nines, good food, goodie bag from Avon, fancy desserts and colorful buzz. I really enjoyed this one and the place they chose to host the event (Cafepedia).

This community is all about sharing your outfits with the rest of the world, inspiring and being inspired by other girls, you can se my profile here, I only started to add looks.

My outfit was a last minute thing as I arrived home late from work and had to get ready fast: a simple vintage maxi dress with comfortable gladiator sandals and pretty much went crazy with the accessories which must come as a surprise to you as I’m always so minimal in this department:)))))))))))))). I felt like wearing my peacock feathers hippie headband that I made last month and added a braid as my hair wasn’t in  good mood that day. The gold and black enamel roses belt is also vintage and goes particularly good with three of my favorite rings, don’t you think so?!

All the pictures of my outfit are taken by Denisa using my camera – thank you, sweetie pie!

Me and James Dean

This is me last Saturday at Ab Fab dressed super comfortable and ready for a whole day of  fair and friends. All the credit for the photos goes to Denisa and Costin who always come to the fairs I go to support me and generally spend some quality time together as we rarely succeed to see each other these days when they deal with exams and me with my job and life. Love you guys!:)

The high waisted skirt is vintage and it literally goes with everything. The good part with a simple outfit is that you can accessories left and right (not that I need an excuse to do that) so I chose a flower headband and brooch that I made myself (they are part of my own accessories line - Alice&Sara) and lots of rings. I’m crazy about James Dean, he’s one of those rare persons that had something truly magical about him, he’s simply unforgettable hence the heart shaped brooch I’m wearing on  my striped cropped tee. The skull rings are a recent purchase and two of the rings I favor right now.

I’ve also enjoyed the company of some of my blogger friends: Sandra and Eve, Raluca and Silvia, Stella, Oliviana, Laura and had a blast with Anna, we spent more than an hour talking about our unhealthy addiction to TV shows, especially Supernatural that we both miss right now. She’s so much fun, smart and funny, we have so many things in common is beyond awesome, I was thinking about jumping on the "Doctor Who" bandwagon this summer and now I’m convinced.

I'm wearing:
skirt - vintage
cropped tee - random brand
 shoes – H&M
rings: Miss Selfridge,  Dorothy Perkins and Forever 21
James Dean brooch and flower headband – made by me (Alice&Sara, you can buy them here and here.)

Never Let Me Go

Disclaimer - This is not a proper review so read away, I’m avoiding spoiling it for you!

Firstly, I love Carey Mulligan. She has something special and rare, elegance, a likeability factor that just sets her apart form anyone else in Hollywood. I dare to say, she is, more than any other young actresses, a modern Audrey Hepburn. It’s not the fact she’s beautiful (many others are so much more beautiful than her - including Keira), it’s something else, it’s her smile and the fact the she plays every role in a quiet, yet convincing and relatable way.

Secondly I thought Never Let me Go was lovely and incredibly sad, the kind of movie that breaks your heart and makes you feel grateful for the world you’re leaving in while also pointing out that you are an ungrateful asshole for standing in the way of your own happiness. I felt like that, I felt I have it easy and don't appreciate enough the choices I have.

Memories, even your most precious ones, fade surprisingly quickly. But I don’t go along with that. The memories I value most, I don’t ever see them fading.

I’ll also say Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley were wonderful in this touching little movie that lingers with you long after it has ended. The soundtrack of this movie still haunts me, it’s amazing.

You just have to take two minutes and listen to this song!

I’m a little bummed I didn’t read the book first (Never Let me Go is a movie adaptation of the novel with the same name written by Kazuo Ishiguro), but it’s on my (love) to do list as soon as I get my hands on it.

We are all innocent

So, guys, I’ve been in a little bit of a funk lately and also super busy at work so the blog was the least of my worries. I guess I’m hanging in there which is all anyone can do in this kind of situations. I’ve also had ring therapy which is basically placing crazy rings orders online. All I can say it’s I’m grateful my obsession is not as expensive as being fixed on shoes for example:))))).

This is an outfit I wore a while ago at Gala Avanpremiere. I love the dress – it’s made of the best print ever: all nautical themed, but in a crazy, pirate kind of way: battle ships, black waters, fleur de lis. The long vest is dear to me – I bought it from Bruxelles last year while visiting the city with a huge grin on my face. I’m also wearing a yellow bird headband that I made and love a lot.

I'm wearing:
dress, belt and bag - vintage
 leather jacket - H&M
 black vest - random brand
shoes - BB Up, rings: New Look,  H&M, Miss Selfridge
fantasy yellow bird headband – made by me (Alice&Sara, you can buy it here.)
