The Face Hunter in Bucharest

As you may probably know (or not know) this weekend The Face Hunter (Yvan Rodic) is coming to Bucharest, in fact he’s here right now so if you’re wondering the streets of the city dressed to the nines (…or almost naked:)))))  be prepared to strike a pose.

Tomorrow and Sunday (25 si 26 septembrie) he will be attending Absolutely Fabulous Fashion&Vintage fair (restaurantul  La Blanca, Calea Dorobantilor Nr.18, intre orele 11:00 -19:00, langa British Council).  My dear sister, Alice, will also be there Sunday with our line of handmade accessories and even some retro and vintage clothes, in case you’re going too, don’t hesitate  to say Hello (she’s a very nice person, I’m the only one that bites in our family).

This is not the first time Yvan Rodic came to Romania, in 2008 he was invited to the anniversary edition of My Grandma's Backyard (the first vintage and self made fair in Romania) organized by the lovely Gabriela Maria Vlad.

I’m a very charitable soul and I found these photos of Yvan so that you know  who to look for in case you’re prepared for fame). When you see this guy just casually act like a drama queen in his proximity and you’ll probably end up on The Face Hunter.

That being said I think it's only appropriate for me to show you the best pictures and looks from The Face Hunter through time. And when I say the best I actually mean the ones I found most inspiring since 2006 when he started this now famous street style blog. And yes, I do have a folder named The Face Hunter on my computer where I stored the pictures I liked the most from this site beginning with 2006. Other than that I’m completely normal.
Mai jos aveti varianta in romana a articolului!

Top 5 best Opening Credits in my book

You might know by now I watch a very unreasonable number of TV shows, I’ve picked this "vice" a couple of years ago and could actually write this article with no research what so ever and even without having sound on YouTube (cause I didn’t until 5 minutes ago).

I watch old and new shows, very good and very bad shows, comedies, dramas and everything in between, I give a chance to everyone of them. I usually hate the opening credits and prefer a show that has none or very short ones, but now and again there is one show that just has wonderfully inspiring opening credits and a theme song that you could hear over and over again and never get bored.

They will get stuck in your mind years after the show is over and you’ll associate them with a time in your life. Here is my current top 5 best opening credits:

1. Sons of Anarchy (this is a brilliant show, I don’t think it has a strong following in Romania, I’ve watched it for 2 years now and it’s in his third season) - it has a badass opening credits. Unfortunately I didn’t find the original opening credits so we’ll have to do with the song and some cool images.

2. True Blood (no comments here) - grossly awesome

3.Firefly (canceled after just one season but brilliant, has shortly become a cult TV series)

4.Dexter (no comment needed) – creepy and wonderful

5.My So Called Life (it’s kind of old (1994) and virtually unknown In Romania and was also canceled only after one season but it’s one of the best teen drama series and a wonderful depiction of the mid-nineties, it features and unforgettable and very young Claire Danes and Jared Leto) – I have lots of things to say about this show so I‘ll probably write a separate article about it

Now that I come to think about it there are to many wonderful shows  for just one short top 5 so I’ll have to make more of this. Hope you’ll enjoy it!

Incursion in my fashion dreams

I’ve asked myself countless time why I’m unable to update this blog as I should - often. The thing is I love fashion but I also get bored and sick of fashion. Life is so much more than fashion and I love so many things I can’t wholeheartedly write only about it. I used to have a personal blog, I wrote there for two years and then I had nothing else to say or I didn’t want to say anything else.

Still I think I need an audience and I actually think I need to write about something, so here I am, writing once a month about something fun and easy and enjoyable and hating the fact that spell check doesn’t work on my laptop. I also hate this new version of Word that I’ve installed on it trying to be hip and always on top of IT progress. I’m actually always under IT progress – I think I need a Facebook page! :)))))) One of the happiest hours of my life was when I somehow changed the html code for this blog and made it look like this – I’ve then forsaken it for a month and a half considering that effort was enough. In case you’re asking yourself what the hell am I saying here, keep doing that cause I don’t know myself – maybe is a sort of explanation of why I’ve been such a bad blogger.

And also know I’m a little bit happy and that’s because fall has finally come to Romania. Man, I love fall, it’s the perfect season – so inspirational, beautiful and melancholic; also you can actually wear clothes and not wish to live in your bathtub because of the heat. And if that is not enough, this is also that time of year when my favorite TV shows and possibly future favorite TV shows start again or just start. Just Wonderful!

I also love the direction fashion has gone this/last season (yes, I know this is so last spring but I’ve picked my favorites a long time ago and than forgot about them), it’s like every great designer has made an incursion in my fashion dreams and then came back and made a collection just for me. Andrej Pejic – the new face of androgyny

You may think he’s a girl. I thought that too! In fact the first thing that came into my mind when I saw Andrej picture was: “What an exquisitely beautiful girl!”.
Then I saw another picture with him fully clothed and kind of noticed the absence of boobs (that should have been a sign :), but I still happily said to myself “She has no boobs so there is still justice in this world”.
In the third picture he was shirtless and still I said “Who’s the brilliant moron that photoshoped Cindy’s Crawford face on a male body?”.
Now, before you think I’m a complete moron myself just take a minute and admit he resembles a young, blonde Cindy Crawford.

I don’t even know if calling Andrej Pejic androgynous is correct as I think he takes the term to another level. And yes, he’s an 18 years old he, originally from Melbourne, Australia. He made quite an impression on Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring/Summer 2011 menswear show in Paris and then on John Galliano's show and I can see why. I predict he’ll be huge in the future :)))).

I also found this interview with him and from his answers I can tell he’s pretty smart too although I lost all objectivity when he said he likes Skins, Asia and the 80’s and dislikes snobbism and tights that look like denim. Perfectly reasonable, I know!
Photos Source – collages made by me!

Would you have ever figured out he’s a boy without the rest of the photos and text? Do you think he looks like Cindy or I’m the only crazy one?

Soundtrack: Azi ascut Garbage - Androgyny !
