This time, baby, I'll be bulletproof

It’s Friday! Finally! I love Fridays - the end of a work week and the endless weekend possibilities. I always end up doing nothing much but the thought that I could do cool things is super reassuring. Plus I got good news that I didn’t expect so yeah, so far, so good.

The outfit is nothing special, just a normal work outfit lightened up by a floral body and a pair of detachable epaulets that I made myself. The bullet necklace is also made by me.
I’ve also got pretty addicted to heels lately and wear them more often than before, who cares I’m taller than everybody, it feels right and the air is fresher up there.:)))))

skirt - vintage
 jacket- Ana Alcazar
 ring - H&M
 shoes – BB Up
  floral body-random brand
detachable epaulets, bullet necklace – Alice&Sara (made by me)

How’s your Friday?

That Girl – Ulyana Sergeenko

Only seen at fashion weeks (mainly Paris Fashion Week) and Russian High End Parties, Ulyana Sergeenko is a sight for sore eyes.

The incredibly beautiful photographer is a modern Gibson Girl in a world of trend hunters and Kate Moss worshipers (not saying that's bad either:)). And that’s a bit odd and wonderful. She’s something else this girl with her 19th century inspired wardrobe and bright red lipstick! Makes you wanna dream and dress yourself to express something more that the latest fashion trends, doesn't she?

If I would have a fashion icon she would be my IT girl!:)

She’s a successful Russian photographer and here you have some of her work.

A single man

Beautiful things really get to me!

This first 10 minutes of this movie kind of killed me! I’ve probably seen better movies this year but “A single man” was the one that still haunts me. It’s the kind of movie that leaves you in a state of not knowing what to do with yourself.

You know when, sometimes, you see something or someone so beautiful that it almost hurts (…like physically) – oh, well that’s "A single man" to me.

I’ve read that some people think Tom Ford went too far with the art direction. I personally think he did a great job, this movie shows his unique vision, knowledge and appreciation for beauty and fashion and "A single man" is one of the prettiest movies I’ve seen in my life.

Usually film makers relay more on the actors and the story to show feelings while Tom Ford also involves the scenery, the way a person sees the world when actually feeling something, the way the colors change when affected by emotions (which actually happens in real life, at least to me:))).

The manner this movie is filmed, the editing, the way colors fade into subtle shades of grey or the other way around, the cinematography, the casting and performances are perfect. Every single frame is aesthetically breathtaking, almost overwhelmingly beautiful and incredibly poetic. Visually and musically, A single man is stunning.
“A few times in my life I've had moments of absolute clarity, when for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade.” (George Falconer in A Single Man)
And, let me tell you, I’ve never seen Colin Firth looking so handsome, stylish and sharp, he was amazing, the quiet way he plays this role is just incredible. I’m actually very surprised this movie received only one Oscar nomination in 2010 (thank God for "The King’s Speech")

Stay tuned as I also prepared four separate articles about Nicholas Hoult, Jon Kortajarena, Julieen Moore and Colin Firth himself and their roles in this amazing movie (that's how obsessed I am!!!)

Who said there is no such thing as too much HOT, has obviously not seen this picture!:))))

Tooday's mood:)

Yes, I’m that king of girl – the kind that will do that to you and probably scar you for life. So guard your kids from my evil pinch :)))))))))). Don’t be fooled by my young, innocent face – I’m an old, annoying lady at heart. Just sayin'!

So, how's your day so far?

I need an intervention

Guys, I think I have a problem – my ring addiction has spiraled out of control. Unlike my previous addictions this one doesn’t really want to fade away, it’s going strong for more than 6 months. Guess where I go first every time I “enter” a virtual store? Women-Jewelry- Rings, you know it!!!!
I did get my grabby hands on some pretty spectacular pieces lately, you’re gonna see all of them featured on the blog at one point.
In the meantime let’s feed this addiction!

Sweet torture

I suspect the universe is trying to feed my unhealthy addiction to chocolate and such. How else can you explain me at the office working hard for the money:)) and then suddenly, still at the office, but torturing myself with pictures and even recipes of the most amazing deserts  in the world.

So weird - I often find myself practicing this modern way of torture, I have to stop reading the chain emails some of my colleagues send me.

From early this morning I can only think about one thing, mainly that I would kill for a piece of Sachertorte (chocolate cake that is). This unbelievable desert originally from Austria is, if you like chocolate as much as I do, the ultimate treat.
An  original Sachertorte can only be found in Vienna or Salzburg, the place were the Sacher hotels are. It  was created in 1832 when Wenzel Clemens Prince Metternich (the minister of foreign affairs then) wanted a super exciting new desert he could serve to his high ranking guests (he probably wanted them semi drugged so that the governmental matters could go smoothly). Because the chef was ill this hard task felt on the hands of an 16-year-old apprentice named Franz Sacher. Poor bastard! Luckily his desert was a hit and so his name will forever be known as the name of this legendary cake.
A Sachertorte is made from chocolate cake with one or two layers of apricot jam in the middle and a consistent dark chocolate icing on top and sides. If you want to tray the traditional receipt then you have to serve it with whipped cream. Amen!!!!

You’re entitled to hate me now! I will allow that much! I’ll eat a grapefruit and call it a day!

Holly Lavender!!!

These two lavender dresses worn by Mila Kunis (Elie Saab Haute Couture) and Cate Blanchet (Givency  Couture) were the most beautiful dresses from the Oscar Red Carpet this year (in my humble opinion – joking here, I’m not humble at all :)))). Accidentally they were both in a powdery shade of lavender which as the photos prove can look pretty spectacular on a blonde as well as a brunette.

Any other favs?

La vie en rose (…and black)

Some days I just feel so French in my head I have to act on it.
That obviously means a beret hence my black fluffy one. And because I wasn’t very subtle that particular morning I added a huge Eiffel Tower brooch on my cute beret. Is that French enough for you? Me neither!:)))

That’s way I wore my black dress with a touch of white ruffled lace at the bust and a lovely necklace with a vintage pendant watch and pink bow that I made myself.
I do not feel complete without a belt and the blue one felt just right. I found the electric blue bag on my way to the door (talking about destiny) and VOILA, I was ready to go.
The weather wasn’t as French as the outfit but that’s out of my hands so I just went with it.:)))
I also don’t have a wide range of supermodel moments as you can see from the gif I just had to make.

Are some of your days more French than others?
